Canada minority party says it is hopeful it can work with PM Trudeau

OTTAWA — The leader of Canada’s opposition New Democratic Party (NDP), Jagmeet Singh, said on Thursday he was hopeful he could work with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s minority Liberal government.

Singh, speaking after talked with Trudeau, also told reporters he wanted to see the government take concrete action to boost healthcare and fight climate change. The Liberals and the NDP together have a majority in the House of Commons.
